Afterglow Art Festival is a free art at night celebration of community creativity held in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. For three years the event has brought together artists of all kinds, from budding young artists to experienced professionals from across Lunenburg County to bring exposure to the talent of our rich community. Inspired by the Halifax’s Nocturne Art at Night event, Afterglow hosts unique creative exhibits and experiences for citizens in public spaces in Bridgewater, in particular highlighting it’s downtown core – King Street.
Each project will be artist-led and each artist initiative is organized independently for the event. Last year (2013) we supported over 35 projects with over 150 artists.
Projects and Creative Events to take place during the evening are comprised of any of the following (but not limited to):
- Art installations
- Gallery style hangings
- Projections
- Music performance
- Written & Spoken word
- Dance Performance
- Theatrical performance including improv
- Improv theatre
- Artist led workshops
- Film/Video
- Roaming or mobile art
