This Place Matters: Medway Head Lighthouse

Medway Hewad Lighthouse (2)In June of last year the Government of Canada turned over the Medway Head Lighthouse to the Medway Head Lighthouse Society – a non-profit community organization founded in 2013 to keep this lighthouse ‘shining’.

While the society has a small government grant to do much needed repairs and improvements, most of its moneys come from fund raising events – one of them being the Lighthouse Awareness Art Show coming again this summer.

The National Trust for Canada put aside funds to help communities to restore their Lighthouses in the This Lighthouse Matters project.

The Medway Head Lighthouse Society submitted its profile to the competition in hopes to raise CAD *5000.– for the cause.

The race is on until 15-Jul-2015 and the Medway Head Lighthouse does well so far. With your help we can bring the project over the finishing line and be first while doing so – all it takes for you to do is place a vote.

Please take moment and vote for the Medway Head Lighthouse by clicking here. You can vote once a day (per IP address). So keep voting daily.

Edit 17-Jul-2015: The race is over. The Medway Head Lighthouse got quite a few votes thanks to our readers – however did not make it over the finishing line to benefit from the project funds.

Of course you can still donate a dollar or two to the Medway Head Lighthouse.
