Queens Olympic Wall Unveil

[Reqion of Queens Municipality:] You are invited! Let’s come together Wednesday August 24[, 2022] at 1:00PM in the lobby of Queens Place Emera Centre for the unveiling of the Queens County Olympic Wall.

This initiative and event are dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of high performance athletes, coaches and officials from Queens County who have participated in World Olympic and World Special Olympic Games.

Seven (7) individuals are set to be inducted with many of the inductees in attendance. The inductees are: Jamie Belong, Betty Ann Daury, Owen Hamlin, Jenna Martin, Sarah Mitton, Alexander Shankel and Ben Theriau.

In addition to this ceremony a limited number of prints of each inductee will be made available for purchase at $10 per print with all proceeds going to the Municipal Recreation For All program.

It is expected that attendance will be high for this event. With space at a premium in the lobby we encourage you be aware of your health safety and that of others. Although masks are not required they continue to be strongly recommended. Be patient and respectful of the space the inductees may require many of whom are still training.

Rock The Mersey – Canada Day Celebrations 2022

[Region of Queens Municipality:] July 1 all across Queens,  it will be time to Celebrate Canada! Canada Day events and celebrations are planned in Milton, Caledonia & Liverpool.

Canada Day 2022 promises to be a fantastic celebration of community! The theme for Canada Day 2022 in Liverpool is #ROCKtheMersey. The festivities start at 1:00 p.m. July 1 in Privateer Park, on Liverpool’s waterfront, and conclude with fireworks at dark (approx. 10 p.m.).  See the poster for more information or click here to download a PDF of the poster .
