Derek Edwards: Alls I’m Saying – Liverpool, 31-Mar-2017

Friday, 31-Mar-2017 / 7:30pm

[Astor Theatre] Alls I’m Saying is brazenly tentative! Like a sniper with the hiccups, Derek Edwards takes aim at life’s galling moments, exhales slowly and jerks back the trigger. A riotous evening of homegrown comedy — like taking a ride in an open golf cart with a good friend and a 6 pack.

The Windos Of Change presents ‘Midsummer.com

20170302-05 Midsummer.com, LiverpoolTitania and Oberon just can’t make it work. In a fit of mutually jealous rage they inadvertently zap themselves and all the fairies into our very real world—right into the middle of a teen summer theatre camp that happens to be mounting A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Now Puck and the fairies must find a way to reignite the love between their king and queen, or the whole group will be stuck here forever. But love is not as simple as it first appears. And with real life mirroring the Bard’s greatest comedy, it’ll take more than a little magic to get Cupid to hit the right targets!

Cash on Delivery – Comedy

20160414-17 Cash on Delivery[Astore Theatre] Imagine the most creative yet convoluted story you can muster. Intertwine the lives of several people (most of who do not exist). Make up an ailment of some sort for each – consider their families, their professions. Add to those details secret bits of juicy information and a slightly goofy tenant entering stage right at precisely the most inopportune time. Now, imagine being put on the spot to tell that tale over and over again, creating as you go, because all of the details, save a handful of actual tales already told are, at present, in question by local authorities who have just arrived in your living room. Sound like a crazy bit of everyday lunacy? Thats just what the audience is in store for when the Astor Theatre produces the fast paced British comedy Cash on Delivery April 14 to 17, 2016.

The play tells the story of a con artist who has duped the welfare authorities for years by claiming every type of benefit for the innumerable people he claims live at his address. He is sent scrambling when welfare investigators show up and he is forced to prove all of his boarders are in fact real. A hilarious comedy full of mistaken identities, slamming doors, and a con that spirals out of control.
