[©2015 novascotia.ca] The annual Queens County Fair runs for five days from 15-Sep to 19-Sep-2015 with Draft Horse Show Classes and Pulls, Oxen Classes and Pulls with log yarding competitions and a relay race for the oxen.
The Light horses compete in riding classes as well as gaming classes.
Several Farms bring their beef cattle to show off their product.
There is a Street Parade on Wednesday [16-Sep-2015/2pm] as well as the Queens of the Fair Pageant.
A wide variety of musical entertainment is featured several times each day. The Main Building displays feature garden produce, home baking, crafts, handmade quilts and other home crafts as well as a flower display. Vendors are on site with a wide variety of products for sale as well as information displays with Agricultural information and local Heritage information.
There are activities for the kids such as the Little Miss and Mister Pageants and the Children's Pet Parade. Bouncy rides are on site and this year we hope to add to those activities.
Throughout the week demonstrations and cultural spots are held to remind everyone of how things were done in years past such as butter churning, wool spinning, and manufacture of household products. Even learn how to make an Ox Yoke.
On site camping is available as well as a wide variety of foods provided by vendors and the Association dining room providing three home cooked meals each day.
There is something for all ages to enjoy while helping to celebrate our local agricultural Heritage.
