On (or around) 19-May-2022 both our access roads to the FoxCreek community
– Old Kettle Rd from Mill Village to the Fox Creek turnaround
– Medway Harbour Rd, from Hwy 331 to the turnaround
have been graded and “leveled”.
The roads at the moment do not look very smooth. They are not leveled as usual and rocks are sticking out or laying on the surface of the road. It is unclear at present if the the roads will get a second pass or even a top-off (as promised last fall).
Be extra careful while driving, particularly with a bicycle or motorcycle.
Also watch out around 79 Medway Harbour Rd as there are still a few bigger rock sticking out of the road!
Remember, the speed limit on Old Kettle Rd and Medway Harbour Rd is 50km/h.
And the speed limit on all roads within the FoxCreek community is 30km/h!
This has the additional benefit of less wear & tear on your car’s tires and body. Not to mention – on dry days – less kicked up dust.
Though our community roads are one lane only, try to drive on the right as much as possible to avoid build-up of ruts (and help compact the road) and avoid driving over pot holes, particularly in rain, to slow down the expansion of the holes!
Also do not pass another car by driving all the way to the edge of the road bed as you might damage the edge. In doubt – back up!
Thank you!
