QPEC included in National Tour by Canadian Music Icons

[Region of Queens Municipality, 10-Mar-2017, Liverpool, NS]: 2017 is the year of great Canadian entertainment at Queens Place Emera Centre in Liverpool, NS. Eight time Juno award winning band the Barenaked Ladies will perform at Queens Place Emera Centre on Friday, October 20th, as part of their Canada 1 Five 0 Tour.

VIP tickets will go on sale on Wednesday March 15 at 10 a.m. Atlantic time, and regular ticket sales will open at 10 a.m. Atlantic time on Friday, March 17, 2017.

Mill Village School could become International Boarding School

[The Advance, 1-Mar-2017]  A local non-profit organization received Council approval to pursue their plan to convert the former Mill Village School into an international boarding school for a price of $1.00, says a release from the Region of Queens Municipality.

Region of Queens to Sell Former School to Non Profit Organization

[Region of Queens Municipality, March 1, 2017] A local non profit organization received Council approval to pursue their plan to convert the former Mill Village School into an international boarding school.

At the February 28, 2017 Regular Council meeting, the Council of the Region of Queens Municipality approved giving notice of its intention to enter into a Purchase and Sale Agreement with The Devi International Boarding School Society for the sale of the former Mill Village School property, located at 227 Medway River Road, Mill Village, NS, for a sale price of $1.00. Daylight Saving Time (DST) starts in USA and Canada !!!

The term “spring forward – fall back” is meant to trigger your memory to set your clocks forward one hour in the spring at the start of DST, and one hour back in the fall when DST ends.

DST+1In most of the United States, Canada, and Mexico’s northern border cities when local standard time is about to reach Sunday, March 12, 2017, 02:00h (2am) clocks are turned forward 1 hour to Sunday, March 12, 2017, 03:00h (3am) local daylight time instead.

Sunrise and sunset will be about 1 hour later on Mar 12, 2017 than the day before. There will be more light in the evening.

A different way to remember which direction to set your clock for Daylight Saving Time (DST) is that in the spring, you bring out (or forward) the garden furniture (clocks are set 1 hour ahead), and in the fall you put them back (clocks are set 1 hour back).

Power Outage, 13-Feb-2017

The FoxCreek community experienced a power outage from 13-Feb-2017/4:01pm to 14-Feb-2016/6:27pm caused by a power line down from strong winds and heavy snow.

FOXweather was partially affected as data was collected but could not be broadcasted from 6:50am to 10:45am on 14-Feb-2017.

FOXlive data was collected but no broadcast took place as the system was shut down as a precaution at 9:30pm. FOXlive was up and broadcasting again at 14-Feb-2017/7pm.

No weather data was lost.
