For the first time in a decade, Mercury is about to transit the Sun. Catch the event that only occurs 13 times a century.

The planet Mercury will pass between the Earth and the Sun on Monday, 9-May-2016, marking a rare celestial event that occurs only 13 times a century. From Earth, the planet will look like a tiny black dot moving in a straight line across a portion of the Sun.

Leaf and Yard Waste Pick-up Spring/2016

[Region of Queens Municipality] This year’s LEAF AND YARD WASTE roadside pick-up for the FoxCreek community will be held during the week of May 9th to May 13th, 2016 on your regular collection day.

The materials acceptable for pick-up shall include leaves, grass trimmings, and yard waste placed in clear or orange plastic bags (no plastics, cigarette packages, cups, etc.).

Branches and limbs will be accepted if individual branches do not exceed 7cm (2.5 inches) in diameter. These should be tied in bundles no longer than 1.2m (4 feet) and 20cm (8 inches) in diameter.

Spring Clean-Up 2016

Spring clean-up (Sperrgut) for the FoxCreek community takes place in the week starting Monday,  25-Apr-2015 on the regular collection day.

Place items next to the grey community garbage box by Monday morning.

Generally, items acceptable for pick-up are over-sized items and items not regularly collected on your regular collection day. These items shall not exceed 150lbs (68kg) in weight or 6ft (182cm) in length.

Items that will NOT be collected are Leaf and Yard Waste, Household Hazardous Waste, Building Demolition Waste, Tires, Propane Tanks and Electronics (Computers and TVs, etc.).

Please keep your regular household garbage (green bags), blue bags, cardboard and compost separate from the spring clean-up items.
